Our Faculty Research Assistant, Çağatay Gümüş, represented our university by participating in the EIT InfraBooster Finals event held in Budapest on 25 November 2025, within the scope of the EIT Innovation Awards 2025.

Gümüş delivered a presentation in the session titled “Unlocking the Hidden Value of European Research Infrastructures: EIT InfraBooster Showcase,” focusing on business model approaches that transform smart textile knitting infrastructures into services such as smart textile prototyping, training, and contract R&D for startups and SMEs.

Within the scope of the presentation, ITU’s research capacity in the field of smart textiles, the infrastructure of the Department of Textile Engineering, and the activities carried out by the Soft Sensors Laboratory were introduced to international participants. This laid the groundwork for new collaboration opportunities among the EIT community, research infrastructure owners, and startups.
