The interdisciplinary project titled “Material-Based Design: Product Designs Using Composite Materials for Sustainable Work Environments,” supported by an ITU BAP grant and involving our faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hande Sezgin and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İpek Yalçın Eniş, together with research assistants Janset Öztemur Sezgin and Suzan Özdemir, was successfully completed in September 2025.

Within the scope of the project, four design registrations were obtained for innovative composite product designs developed through the collaborative work of the disciplines of textile engineering and industrial design:

• Waste Bin (Turkish Patent Design Registration No: 2024 005828)

• Mobile Phone Stand (Turkish Patent Design Registration No: 2024 005831)

• Shoulder Bag (Turkish Patent Design Registration No: 2024 005824)

• Decorative Panel for Buildings (Turkish Patent Design Registration No: 2025 006095)
