The 16th International Symposium on Fiber and Polymer Research (ULPAS), a major meeting point in the field of fiber and polymer technologies, was held on 9–10 May 2025, hosted at our faculty campus of Istanbul Technical University. The symposium attracted strong interest from academics, researchers, and industry representatives from various universities in Türkiye and around the world.

Within the scope of the event, presentations covered a wide range of topics, from the production and characterization of innovative polymers and fibers to nanofibers incorporating natural extracts for medical, cosmetic, and food applications; from polymeric wound dressing surfaces and functional structures to polymer and fibrous systems capable of generating electricity from sunlight, as well as materials providing acoustic control. These contributions fostered a rich interdisciplinary environment for scientific exchange.
