Representatives of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) came together to explore strategic collaboration opportunities in the areas of green transformation in the textile sector, youth empowerment, and digital education.

During the meeting, ITU’s academic infrastructure, laboratory facilities, accreditation processes, national and international research projects, and social responsibility initiatives were presented. It was noted that these activities closely align with UNICEF’s priority areas. UNICEF representatives also provided information on their comprehensive work focused on children’s rights and youth empowerment, covering areas from early childhood and adolescence to vocational education and the transition into employment.

The meeting highlighted the strong potential for collaboration between ITU and UNICEF in developing green skills, promoting sustainable transformation in the textile sector, delivering digital and online training, and empowering young people. The parties also discussed identifying concrete areas of cooperation and exploring national and international funding opportunities in the coming period.
