Representatives of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) came together to explore potential collaboration opportunities focused on sustainability, digitalization, and regional development in the textile sector.

At the beginning of the meeting, the academic infrastructure, laboratory facilities, ongoing national and international research projects, and social impact activities of the ITU Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design were presented. The two institutions then discussed potential areas of joint work and strategic collaboration opportunities in detail.

The meeting highlighted the strong potential for collaboration in sustainable textiles, smart textiles, digitalization, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the development of young people’s vocational skills. Opportunities were also discussed for actively involving ITU students in existing UNDP projects, planning field activities, and jointly exploring interdisciplinary national and international funding opportunities in the coming period.
