Accreditation Period of the ITU Textile Engineering Graduate Program Extended to Five Years

The Department of Textile Engineering at Istanbul Technical University has once again demonstrated its success in quality assurance and compliance with international standards in graduate education. Following the latest evaluations, the accreditation period of the Textile Engineering Graduate Program, which had previously been granted two-year accreditation, was successfully extended to five years.

YÖK-ADEP Support Awarded for the Project “Advancing Conductive Thermoplastics Through Innovative Nanostructured Networks”

The project entitled "Advancing Conductive Thermoplastics Through Innovative Nanostructured Networks" has been awarded funding under the Research Universities Support Program (ADEP) of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YÖK). The project is jointly coordinated by Prof. Dr. Burçak Karagüzel Kayaoğlu from the Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design and Prof. Dr. Mohammadreza Nofar from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, at Istanbul Technical University.

İTÜ Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design

Textile Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) is the first and the single one offering textile engineering education in Istanbul, and also comes first among the top textile engineering schools in Turkey. Its history could be traced back to 1955; the year in which the textile division was established in the body of Mechanical Engineering. The school gained its current name and independent status in 1983. Therefore, it is obvious that the Textile Engineering Department is fairly new compared to the history of İTÜ stretching back to 240 years.
