In our faculty, there is ITU Textile and Apparel Quality Control and Research Laboratory, which provides industrial service and allows the research of the academic staff and the applied training of undergraduate / graduate students.

ITU Textile and Apparel Quality Control and Research Laboratory

ITU Textile and Apparel Quality Control Laboratory, which was established in 1955 within the structure of the Textile Chair and started its activities with full capacity after the Chair was transformed into an independent department in 1983, started its activities in 1993 in Istanbul Technical University Gümüşsuyu campus in a closed area of 1200 square meters. In 2005, with the addition of our department as a Faculty and the addition of the student and research laboratories established within the framework of the new structuring, the actual closed area that became operational increased to 2500 square meters. With a second and major infrastructure restoration work in 2013, the Quality Control Laboratory was completely renovated and continues its activities within the framework of a new understanding and order as of June 2013. In May 2015, our Textile and Apparel Quality Control and Research Laboratory received TÜRKAK accreditation. ITU Textile and Apparel Quality Control Laboratory has TÜRKAK accreditation out of 23 tests and can perform a total of 71 tests.

In ITU Textile Technologies and Design Faculty, Textile and Apparel Quality Control Laboratory, tests and analyzes of textile and apparel products have been carried out with trained and competent personnel for nearly 30 years, by blending laboratory experience with academic knowledge, experience and expertise. and offered in high quality.

In our laboratory, besides evaluating the applications from various public institutions and organizations and industrialists, performing the necessary tests and analyzes within the framework of national and international test and analysis standards and delivering the results to the applicant, R&D studies are also carried out on the subjects of interest.
