Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Yanılmaz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Atalay are among the most influential scientists in the world

One of our faculty members, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Yanılmaz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Atalay took their place among the most influential scientists in the world.

International academic criteria such as the number of qualified publications, the number of patents, the number of citations, the number of articles and the effect of the journal in which it was published were taken into account in the creation of this list, which is regularly announced by Elsevier and Stanford University and includes the most influential scientists in the world.

Congratulations to our faculty members who deserve to be included in the list.

İTÜ Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design

Textile Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) is the first and the single one offering textile engineering education in Istanbul, and also comes first among the top textile engineering schools in Turkey. Its history could be traced back to 1955; the year in which the textile division was established in the body of Mechanical Engineering. The school gained its current name and independent status in 1983. Therefore, it is obvious that the Textile Engineering Department is fairly new compared to the history of İTÜ stretching back to 240 years.
