Farewell Ceremony for Retired Faculty Members

The retirement ceremony for Prof. Dr. Nuray Uçar and Prof. Dr. Gülay Özcan took place on September 29, 2023.

A farewell ceremony was held on September 29, 2023, in the doctoral hall of our campus to bid farewell to Prof. Dr. Nuray Uçar, who retired from our faculty in October 2022, and Prof. Dr. Gülay Özcan, who retired in November 2022. Plaques were presented to our retired professors as a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions to our faculty. We thank them for their valuable contributions.

İTÜ Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design

Textile Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) is the first and the single one offering textile engineering education in Istanbul, and also comes first among the top textile engineering schools in Turkey. Its history could be traced back to 1955; the year in which the textile division was established in the body of Mechanical Engineering. The school gained its current name and independent status in 1983. Therefore, it is obvious that the Textile Engineering Department is fairly new compared to the history of İTÜ stretching back to 240 years.
