Our Research Assistant Suzan Özdemir Receives Best Paper Award

Research Assistant Suzan Özdemir received the Best Paper Award at the ICBMM 2024 conference in Spain.

Research Assistant Suzan Özdemir from our Faculty of Textile Engineering was awarded the "Best Paper" prize for her presentation titled "Transforming Textile Wastes: Innovative Design of Sustainable Composite Materials for Thermal Insulation" at the 8th International Conference on Building Materials and Materials Engineering (ICBMM 2024) held in Spain on September 10-12, 2024.

The paper was completed under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. İpek Yalçın Eniş and Assoc. Prof. Hande Sezgin, with contributions from Research Assistant Janset Öztemur Sezgin.

We congratulate Suzan Özdemir on behalf of our faculty and wish her continued success.

İTÜ Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design

Textile Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) is the first and the single one offering textile engineering education in Istanbul, and also comes first among the top textile engineering schools in Turkey. Its history could be traced back to 1955; the year in which the textile division was established in the body of Mechanical Engineering. The school gained its current name and independent status in 1983. Therefore, it is obvious that the Textile Engineering Department is fairly new compared to the history of İTÜ stretching back to 240 years.
