A First from İTÜ: EUR-ACE Label for Our Graduate Programs Accredited by MÜDEK

by Nurşah Çağlar | Jan 28, 2025

For the first time in Turkey, our graduate programs in Earthquake Engineering, Coastal Sciences and Engineering, and Textile Engineering have been accredited by the Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MÜDEK) and awarded the EUR-ACE (European Accredited Engineer) Label.

These accreditations, granted by MÜDEK, a member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), align the quality of education at our university with international standards and provide significant advantages for our students in the global job market.

As İTÜ, we will continue to enhance the quality of our engineering education and contribute to science and technology.

İTÜ Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design

Textile Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) is the first and the single one offering textile engineering education in Istanbul, and also comes first among the top textile engineering schools in Turkey. Its history could be traced back to 1955; the year in which the textile division was established in the body of Mechanical Engineering. The school gained its current name and independent status in 1983. Therefore, it is obvious that the Textile Engineering Department is fairly new compared to the history of İTÜ stretching back to 240 years.
