The 2023 results of the annual list of the world's most influential scientists, prepared in collaboration with Elsevier and Stanford University, have been announced. The study included 223,152 scientists worldwide in the "Annual Impact" category and 217,097 scientists in the "Career-Long Impact" category. Rankings were based on objective criteria such as the number of high-quality publications, citations to these publications, patent counts, h-index, and hm-index.

Two faculty members from our department, Associate Professor Meltem Yanılmaz and Associate Professor Özgür Atalay, have been recognized in this prestigious list of the world's most influential scientists.

İstanbul Technical University (İTÜ) has demonstrated a consistent rise in both categories over the past five years. In the "Annual Impact" category, İTÜ had 45 academics listed in 2020, increasing to 50 in 2021, 51 in 2022, 62 in 2023, and 66 in 2024.
