The "STEWART" project, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Atalay, one of our faculty members, was deemed worthy of support within the scope of the IraSME call.
The project, in which the ITU Computer Engineering Department will also take part as one of the executive institutions, will continue to work for 24 months. Within the scope of the project, it is envisaged to develop medical e-textiles using biomedical, textile, electronic, and computer technologies, as well as wearable textile-based sensors. These products can be used for purposes such as measuring physiological health parameters such as respiration and EKG, monitoring human body joint movements, obtaining postural information, making instant follow-up and early risk analysis, using them in preventive health services, providing performance support with feedback, or providing motivation for individual goals. Small and large-scale enterprises from Turkey and Belgium will also contribute to the project.
We congratulate our esteemed faculty members and wish them continued success.
