The main objectives of the project are as follows:
-
To jointly examine centuries-long European experience and existing craft and art workshops in the field of fundamental textile techniques.
-
To investigate the interaction between the practitioner, fiber raw materials, and the ergonomic parameters of hand tools used in fundamental textile techniques.
-
To discuss and develop nomenclature lists that include the essential tools required for each fundamental textile technique and their specifications.
Expected Impact
The project outcomes are expected to be grouped as follows:
-
A conceptual design for a training workshop focused on fundamental textile techniques.
-
A conceptual framework to support the development of design documentation for equipment used in fundamental textile techniques.
-
A monograph consisting of 18 articles describing textile workshops and museum exhibitions established across Europe and the Mediterranean.
-
Introductory-level curricula for the implementation of a fundamental textile techniques workshop.
