The Learning Workshop for Fundamental Textile Techniques project has been awarded funding of €60,000.00 under the Erasmus KA210-ADU call “Partnerships for Cooperation and Exchange of Good Practices / Small-Scale Partnerships in Adult Education.”

A Study at ITU Bringing Together Knitting Technology and Robotic Engineering

TU’s Soft Sensors Lab published an ERC-backed, thermally activated textile exoskeleton in Advanced Science. The TEXWEAROTS project, led by Prof. Dr. Özgür Atalay, integrates textiles with sensors, actuators, and energy systems to create next-generation wearable soft robotics.

Our faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hande Sezgin and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İpek Yalçın Eniş, together with research assistants Janset Öztemur Sezgin and Suzan Özdemir, have obtained four design registrations through the ITU BAP–supported interdisciplinary project titled “Material-Based Design: Product Designs Using Composite Materials for Sustainable Work Environments.”

The patent study titled “TEXTILE-BASED STRETCHABLE INTERDIGITAL SENSOR,” developed by our faculty members Prof. Dr. Özgür Atalay and Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Tunçay Atalay with contributions from Soft Sensors Laboratory researchers, was awarded a bronze medal at ISIF’25.

The study titled “Investigation of Nanoparticle-Added Natural Fiber Reinforced Composites Under Low-Velocity Impact Loading,” led by Prof. Dr. Nazan Okur and Prof. Dr. Canan Sarıçam, was presented by Res. Asst. Sinem Birsen at LBES-25 and received the Best Session Paper certificate.
